You might be very worried about that big Thanksgiving dinner: how are you going to roast the turkey, set up the table and have your kids well dressed and ready all at the same time?  Don't worry, we've got it covered. This fall, entertain your guests and your kids with these delightful snacks while they wait for dinner to be served. We guarantee that they will love the food so much that your only problem is going to be keeping these delicious treats out of their Children Chic clothes.




Pumpkin quesadillas:
You will need:
  • 2 cups canned pure pumpkin puree
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 8 8 inches flour tortillas
  • 4 ounces goat cheese, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, toasted
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oilIn a bowl, stir pumpkin and cumin; season. Spread over 4 tortillas. Sprinkle with cheese and nuts. Top with remaining tortillas. In a large skillet, heat 1 tbsp. oil over medium-low. Cook quesadillas 1 at a time, turning once and adding more oil between batches, until browned, 3 minutes. Cut into wedges.



Applesauce chutney


  • 1 red onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 24 ounce jar chunky applesauce
  • 1/4 cup golden raisins
  • tablespoon minced crystallized ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh thyme


In a large pan over medium, cook the onion in butter until softened, 3 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients; cook 3 minutes, then season. Serve with pork or with whatever you have at home that you feel would taste great! The best thing about these recipes is that they can both be cooked in less than 10 minutes, leaving you a lot of time to carefully select the outfits that your kids will wear on this special day.
